September is BULK Pick-Up Month
September 1st is the first Friday of the month. Zone 1 Bulk Pick-Up is tomorrow. September 8th is Zone 2; September 15th is Zone 3; September 22nd is Zone 4. Four large items or the equivalent of four cans can be collected. NO CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL OR VEHICLE PARTS WILL BE COLLECTED. Please separate metal and stack in separate pile. Residents requesting an additional Bulk pick-up outside of these dates may submit a request at Borough Hall, 42 Shore Drive. The fee will be $20.00 and limited to two items. Only TWO additional Bulk pick-up requests will be allowed per address per year
Hurricane Harvey Assistance
The Governor of Texas has asked those who wish to help the residents in need following the recent storm to make donations to the American Red Cross. In addition, the other VOAD - Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster agencies have offered to assist. Information regarding how to donate through the National VOAD can be obtained at

The Department of Environmental Protection and officials in the Two Rivers region of northeastern Monmouth County are encouraging the public to identify buildings and other facilities in their communities that should be part of focused flood-resiliency planning efforts. Please see the flyer attached.
Blood Drive
The Highlands Fire Department Fall Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday September 26, 2017 from 5-8pm at the Firehouse, 17-1 Shore Drive.
Borough Calendars
Borough Calendars with lots of information about meetings, clubs, events, schools, trash days and so much more are at the Office, 42 Shore Drive, and the Community Center, 22 Snug Harbor. You can pick them up during business hours 8:30am-4:30pm. Next year, the calendar will be mailed to all households in January of 2018.
