News & Announcements
Mastering the Art of the Interview
Dr. Linda Luciano, founder and president of, will conduct an interactive workshop to equip participants with valuable strategies and tips to confidently approach job interviews on Monday, January 22, at 7 pm. Call to RSVP.
NEW! Kids' Meditation Class
Kids are busier than ever these days! Our new monthly Kids' Meditation Class, which starts on Saturday, January 20, at 11 am, will help children in grades 1 and up learn how to relax and center themselves. Call to RSVP.
The Performing Arts Project
Does your elementary school age child love to perform? Join us every Saturday in January from noon to 1 pm for a four-week class led by drama teacher Missy Bonaguide, which will feature improv, acting, and musical theater. RSVP 973-226-8636
Adult Meditation Classes
Take a mindfully relaxing escape from your busy schedule with Adult Meditation classes on Thursday, January 25 at 7 pm, and Thursday, February 8, at 10 am. RSVP is not required, but helpful in case we need to reach participants in the event of a cancellation.
Rubber Stamp Making Workshop NEW DATE
Learn how to carve your own stamps out of rubber, and then use your unique stamps to create a set of two printed tea towels on Friday, January 26, starting at 6 pm (PLEASE NOTE THE NEW DATE AND TIME). All materials provided. Space is limited, so RSVP is required.
The College Funding Coach
Don't miss this very informative workshop on financial planning for college on Thursday, February 1, at 7 pm. The College Funding Coach will visit the library and discuss strategies for all kinds of families....those who are eligible for financial aid, those who are not, those with very young kids, and those with children about to enter college. RSVP required.
Vision Board Workshop
What do you wish to achieve this year and beyond? Vision boards are a fun way to showcase your goals and dreams, and the finished product will keep you motivated! Create your own vision board and join a discussion on how you'll put your intentions into motion. Participants must bring their own posterboard. Call to RSVP.
Hooray for Love Jazz Concert
Celebrate the season of love with the Jane Stuart Quartet on Sunday, February 11, at 2 pm, when the group takes the "stage" in our Community Room and presents their Valentine-themed jazz concert, "Hooray for Love." Call to RSVP.
Knitting & Crochet Club
Enjoy an evening of knitting and crocheting at the library on Monday, January 29, starting at 7 pm. New members welcome.
Adult Yoga Classes Every Week
Join us every Wednesday at 11:30 am for an invigorating Adult Yoga class with Taryn and Kristin. RSVP is not required, but still helpful in case we need to reach participants in the event of a cancellation.
Library Book Club
The Roseland Free Public Library Book Club's next meeting will on Wednesday, January 24, at 7:15 pm. The group will discuss The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. New members welcome.
Next Matinee Monday: January 22
Our next Matinee Monday, January 22 at 1 pm, will feature Dunkirk. Watch Allied Forces soldiers fight German soldiers in one of WWII's fiercest battles. PG-13, 106 minutes. Popcorn will be served, no RSVP needed. NOTE: No movie on January 15, library will be closed for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Scott's Solutions: Now on Fridays!
Library assistant Scott Bergenfeld can show you the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other tech resources FRIDAYS 9 am-noon. Safely navigate social media; create resume templates, letters, and spreadsheets; utilize cell phone, iPad, and Kindle features, such as calendars and more. No RSVP needed for this drop-in instruction.
Mobile Hotspots Available
Mobile Hotspots are now available for our patrons to borrow! Available to patrons 18 or older with a valid driver's license and Roseland Free Public Library card in good standing. Each hotspot provides internet access for up to 10 devices. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis, and the loan period is 14 days. There will be a $5 per day late fee.
Museum Passes Available
Patrons can borrow passes for themselves and/or their families for The Newark Museum, Montclair Museum, Morris Museum, The NY Transit Museum, and (coming soon) Imagine That!
