Avodah: The Jewish Service Corps

Fellowship in Prayer awarded a Sacred Journey Grant to Avodah in 2017 to support their cohort of 70 young adult volunteer leaders working in front-line anti-poverty organizations located in Chicago, New Orleans, New York City and Washington, D.C.  Participants commit to working on economic and social justice issues, deepening their understanding of poverty-related issues, and experiencing growth in Judaism and Jewish life.

We do this by engaging participants in service and community building that inspire them to become lifelong leaders for social change whose work for justice is rooted in and nourished by Jewish values.
